Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah Opening Hours:Dinner:Wednesday to Monday 19:00 - 23:00 Seating capacity:90 seats Location:First FloorIntegrity of food & ingredients Our stores feature fresh, made in house food, sauces, udon, fresh cut fish, made on site sushi fresh thoughout the day. Under the same ownership/management as nearby Umi Sushi (which is at the back of JBR on corner of Al Sufouh Street). And weirdly not nearly as good. Perhaps the owners are economising; there seems to be less fish and expensive ingredients in the rolls these days. Go to Sushi Art at The Beach instead, which is amazing. There was no dumplings available because the steamer was out of service.. 38 AED for 2 pieces (!) of salmon sushi is unacceptable, Vietnamese spring roll was tasteless. I am sure I'll not go there again. My husband and I had a hankering for sushi and wanted to order delivery. We ordered via Foodonclick and chose Umi because there were only two other options and they'd both disappointed us before.
We noticed right away that the prices were outrageous but assumed it meant we were getting high quality, large portions. We ordered 3 maki rolls and... It's a good choice to come here after a tiring walk over the beach and the area. We were browsing the restaurants over JBR whether which one is good to feed our hungry tummy and we found this, we were somehow the first customers who arrived at that time for the lunch and we were served well. We went there with kids. Wide choice, helpful waiters who all the time watch what you and are ready to help. It was awful our dinner here yesterday! We dine here just for try while waiting for Beach fire works.. The food nothing special. Its a wrong try. I ordered nadi horeng and phad thai its like just re-heat and put in the plate to served. I wanted to try this restaurant since was not far from my hotel and it appeared nice from outside. I had a very good dinner. Definitively the best california rolls I ever had, fresh and tasty.
The second meal, rice noodles, where good as well, even if the sauce was a bit too sweet for me. The real surprise was... Umi Fusion is a nice Japanese restaurant nestled in the Jumeirah Beach Residence. The staff are polite, albite a but ditzy sometimes, but the quality of the sushi and food is excellent, especially if one is a sushi snob. The portions are good and the prices are appropriate for the quality of fish that is served. There are no disappointments... I've had better Fushion food but can forgive the lack of 'wow' because the location is stunning. What puts me of this restaurant is the poor service and arrogance of staff. Better spend your money somewhere else like le Pain Quotidien or The butcher Shop and Grill. Really very good mix of Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines. The serving of sashimis on the ice boat is amazing!!! Liked very much Vietnamese spring rolls and Pecking duck.Surprisingly good Asian food at this mall spot Surprisingly good Asian food at this mall spot.
With so many fancy hotels bursting at the seams with great restaurants, it’s easy to dismiss mall-based eateries out of hand. filmul sushi girl onlineUmi Fusion, however, is definitely worth a look.sushi ko kitchen nightmares watch online On the third floor of the new extension at Al Wahda Mall, right next to where the food court will soon be, Umi Fusion looks like a fairly blank canvas – a small kitchen in the back and then lots of tables and chairs in neat formation shows they are confident they will have plenty of custom. sushi grade fish ashevilleOn the weekday lunchtime that we visited, however, we were one of only three tables occupied.pesce per sushi esselunga
The menu is split into Japanese, Chinese and Thai – each section acting independently from the others and offering starters, mains and nibbles from that particular cuisine. umi sushi menu uaeIt isn’t a small menu either, and when a kitchen claims to be able to cover more than one cuisine and a lot of dishes from each it often rings alarm bells for us. juego sushi cat the honeymoonBut we’re brave folk, so we sucked it up. We did decide to stick to the Japanese portion of the menu though. We started with some edamame and a seaweed salad. The edamame was brought to the table seconds after it had finished cooking and was nicely seasoned with a generous sprinkling of sea salt. The beans themselves were a tad over-cooked, but only by a small margin and were still very satisfying. The seaweed salad (hiyashi wakame) is not one of our usual Japanese orders, but we might have to include it in our regular rotation from now on.
It was fresh and zingy, packed with flavour thanks to a delicious dressing, with a unique, slightly slippery texture that we found very enjoyable. For mains we ordered the niku udon soup, some salmon sashimi and a portion each of salmon and unagi (eel) nigiri sushi. The niku udon, beef with udon noodles, was not the hugest bowl but we struggled to finish it all the same. It was positively jammed with chewy udon noodles, thin slices of tender beef and flavour-bomb shitake mushrooms. It was very satisfying, although the broth itself was a little on the sweet side for our palate. The salmon sashimi was very good indeed. The salmon was fresh and of excellent quality and the slices were generously cut. Similarly the salmon nigiri and the unagi nigiri were of good quality and tasted fresh, however if we could make one complaint it would be that the rice-to-fish ratio was a little too heavily weighted in the rice’s favour. This is not the most exciting Japanese food you’ll find in the city, but if you need sustenance while shopping or are just in the area and want a quick bite then this is an excellent option.
