The restaurant seats approximately 50 people and has a separate area dedicated to take-out.To make a reservation or check our holiday hours, please go to the Contact page.Our StoryAugust8 was originally established in 2008 where its first location opened in downtown Hamilton, Ontario.  As a new concept of dining, it was recognized as the first restaurant of its kind in the area to bring the finest aspects of both Cantonese-style dimsum & Japanese cuisine.  The name “August” represented a new restaurant concept for its time and expressed the future vision of the company; the “8” next to August was simply the brand logo (a reinterpretation of “August” in Chinese characters).  During the restaurant’s booming popularity, many customers would refer to “August” as “August8” and many years later, that name would transform a once small restaurant into the brand it is today.

This restaurant is kind where you order off the menu and they bring it to you as a buffet, the only problem was everybody has to have the same thing & not everybody wanted to have the buffet some wanted to order off the menu for lunch. The food wasn't great... We love going here as they give you a tablet which lists all the menu items from drinks to salads to main courses to desserts. you can order as much as you like! the food is really good! the staff are courteous and prompt. We really like the ability to order our dishes from the iPad menu that comes complete with colour pictures of the dish. And if you really like something, it's no problem to order it again (and again) if you want. The service was quick and attentive but a little impersonal - no idle chit chat, but that's okay.

Went here for a gathering. Staff were not so friendly and we had to wait a while before they would come and take the iPad that we ordered on. Food was tasty I guess, but it was not the best. Prices we UNREAL expensive. So at the end of the meal you've tried 10 different wonderful dishes from soups to sauces. As my title states I am so glad that I tried them out. The restaurant is very clean and modern looking. The service was fantastic. The location of Tokyo Maki is arguably better so if it's more convenient for you I have no doubt you'll enjoy your meal.

Had never gone to this type of sushi restaurant before, service was quick and pleasant. The use of IPads to order was entertaining, and informative. The extensive menu was well laid out and descriptions were very accurate. The atmosphere was busy for a Friday night, but not intrusive to pleasant dinner conversation.Your money is worth it. I have been to this restaurant several times. This is a small place with good food which is reasonably priced. Food was good and the staff are very friendly. Would definitely recommend this place. I got take out from this place on a Friday about 2 weeks ago because i was desperate for sushi and no one would go with me! I accidentally walked in the dine-in entrance door (there's a separate entrance for take-out) my first oopsie of the night. The waiter asked me 'table for one???' im like Ohhhh noooo take... Good sized portions made fresh for you, they make it exactly the way you want it, rice is good as are the vegetable. Order the shrimp teriyake, wow, so many good sized shrimp, make mine with extra teriyaki sauce and some hot sauce thanks. Great place for a la carte sushi...with excellent service!!! Jumbo Dynamit Roll is a must have...soooo good!! Great place to eat and awesome sushi, probably one of the best places I've eaten at in a while. I would definitely return here!
