This place is the probable source of the oahu hepatitis A epidemic. I guess I'm good since I don't eat scallops. Still kinda scary to see something in my rotation on the news... Although they have the conveyor belt to deliver you your sushi, they are a little slow stocking it and if there is something in particular you would like that isn't on the conveyor belt at the moment, you will probably end up ordering it from the waiter/waitress and having it brought to you. Flavor was good but a bit pricey,... The atmosphere was cool and we didn't have to wait at all. Our table was ready when we walked in and the food was delicious as always. The waitresses were very professional with taking our orders with beautiful smiles and they made our lunch there awesome. I went to a genki sushi in Waikiki, and was interested in the reasonable prices for sushi boat plates. Once we arrived and waited to be seated, I was uneasy with the fishy smell. I was willing to humor my husband and give this place a try.

I wasn't going to try anything raw, I tried tempura shrimp roll and... It's one of our favorite sushi place! Their food are good as well as the service. Cost is just fine, each plate has each price so just grab what you want and enjoy eating. I always get the salmon collar, spicy bomb, spicy salmon and you can order particular dish that aren't on the belt Sushi wasn't that great. Poor selection on the conveyer belt. Sloppy presentation on the food. Everything appears to be frozen and heated up. Edamame was mushy and ill prepared. There are more Sushi spots in Hawaii then there are McDonalds and Genki is one of the best. The menu selection is vast. And there are selections for the die hard sushi fanatics as well as those who are trying sushi for the first time. When ever I go home I stop at Genki at least twice on my trip.... Enjoyed the sushi but got to ordering rather than waiting for what was on the belt. Waiting line is too long later in evening but early evening can get right in if you don't mind where you sit.

Sushi has really taken over here in Hawaii and flourishing by local & tourist support. Conveyer style , so you pick what interest your liking. You can also order by menu if desire or for speciality items. It's a quick fix like their operation, rolling them sushi in and getting you on your way. All in all not the best,... This is the only place I know that has a drive-through for their sushi.
