If the prices were halved, it wouldnt be terrible but any goodwill you might have is swiftly kicked into touch when the bill is tallied up. I would say this is a very bad sushi restaurant and costed us about 50 pounds (2 persons). First of all, it isn't Japanese food at all (even thought they named themselves Yo! Sushi), this restaurant served fusion food with poor quality, for example the sushis were warm and not fresh at all. Some snacks which cost 6 pounds per... Firstly the food was great and all the cooking staff were fabulous. But sack the disinterested manager and his band of miserable serving staff. Listen, no one was rude, but they repeatedly ignored the red lights and gave off a vibe of not wanting to be there and had no real knowledge of the food and repeated got wrong what... A very disappointing experience. Staff unhelpful, too small a location, very cramped, food bland. Won't be going there againCost as much as a good pub meal but we were all still hungry afterwards!
Service poor and chicken tasted awful. Nice food but there is always a queue out the door here as it is so small, the tables are never as clean as other branches I have been to - this is probably due to there being such a high demand! Called in for lunch.... For September they have a special promotion. At this level it's very good value. Try the hot 3 prawn dish for example. Miso soup keeps topping up!! Good value and quality. Service was friendly and attentive. In October 4th- 14th there is a 33% discount.... We will be back!!!Slow service very basic food just lacked the Yo Sushi sparkle of old. Lack of flavour in some dishes. Just didn't understand why so slow as did not seem very busy at all. Maybe it's just had its moment but without mentioning the name another famous sushi restaurant is so much better fresher and value for money.... 7 Friary Lane, Guildford, GU1 4EH What is a fish2fork rating? It's admirable and heartening to find a chain so committed to good practice and transparent in their supply chain.
They are a fine role model and set an example that others would do well to emulate. None of the species they use are on the Marine Conservation Society's list of seafood to avoid. In search of perfection we might urge the restaurant to, for example, provide more information to diners, such as by stating on its menus that the sea bass is farmed rather than from declining wild stocks, but really there is little to criticise. We'd like to see more restaurants behave like Yo! Since opening our first restaurant back in 1997, YO! Sushi has sourced all fish from reputable suppliers who share our same concerns with regards to environmental issues and sustainability of at-risk species through over fishing and the subsequent depletion of certain fish. So for example, we do not, and will never sell bluefin tuna. We serve fresh premium salmon. Our salmon are happy, with a 2% to 98% ratio of salmon to seawater. Our yellowfin tuna is either pole & line caught in the Indian Ocean or deep-set long lined in the South Pacific Ocean.
Both sources have been super frozen to -60°C to ensure optimum quality and freshness. ABOUT:Someone should give a gong to whoever gave the chain its name. It perfectly reflects the entry level sushi experience that blends fun and fresh, healthy food with high-speed, urban Tokyo style. Modeled on a Japanese ‘kaiten’ sushi bar, delivering food along a counter-top conveyor belt: it may have arrived in London as a novelty, but the concept of travelling colour-coded plates is now a fixture. Sushi is still central to the menu, but the chain also serves soups, rice and noodle dishes, salads, tempura and Japanese favourites such as chicken katsu curry, salmon firecracker rice and gyozas. Although the chain is large, the food is prepared on site at each outlet. The sushi menu offers a good choice and a clear guide to just what is it you’re ordering. As well as sashimi, there are maki, iso, nigiri, gunkan and hand rolls - try the Yo! Roll, the signature iso (rice on the outside of the seaweed) with salmon, avocado and mayonnaise coated in orange smelt roe.
