Unfortunately, Whistler Samurai looks like a shadow of what it should be: they are offering microscopic size rolls.

It's very unlikely what we will be back to this place. Should say something good: this is the first place I've... This place is a little out of the way, the food is excellent, is made and served really fast, great service and well priced. The shop is pretty spartan, with a few tables and self serve utensils, water, tea. The place is always packed with locals which is a solid give away as to quality and value Very crowded at lunch. The service is very slow, but the food is great, especially for the cheap price that you have to pay. I may or may not eat Samurai Sushi at least 3 days per week... The food is good, service is quick and the staff are friendly. They remember you and what you like. They have the benefit of good sushi and the price point and speed of quick service style. Yo

u can eat in, but I usually go for the... Good value and variety of authentic Asian food at a reasonable price. Not fancy but busy and popular with the locals The sushi here is fresh, which is KEY for sushi. The rolls were great and the sashimi delightful. The service was slow and the staff were slightly on the not-so-happy side. I ordered the seaweed salad which was good but not Gluten-free unlike what the menu said, luckily I tasted the soy sauce. Overall it is ok. Authentic feel to this small Japanese restaurant. The lineup was filled with locals ordering takeout. The sashimi was excellent quality and appeared to me to be wild sockeye salmon. He tempura tasted fresh and not overly oily. The bento box looked pretty good. The portion sizes are more in line with an authentic Japanese sushi place, not like the gigantic... I've been living in Whistler since November and love Samurai sushi. If I'm out of groceries and finishing work late Samurai sushi is always convenient and not expensive! Lo

ve this place, I recommend the Samurai special as it is such good value for money. I love this place for their sashimi size and freshness! The rest of the food is great as well! Everything is affordable (much better than all-you-can-eat). Sushi rolls/Nigiri are huge, almost too big to eat at once. Super busy, packed with locals. There are a few restaurants that are institutions on Davie Street. Samurai Sushi is one of them. Most people who eat sushi in the downtown will know of this place and most likely will have eaten here. Fish is very fresh. Service is usually very good. Prices are very reasonable. There is usually a line up for lunch and they... A local recommend this place when we were mentioned we wanted sushi but not necessarily high-end. This is kind of a hole-in-the-wall place, but packed with locals. A lot of food for not a lot of money. The rolls we had enormous amounts of crab. Staff was friendly and service prompt. Great local favorite that has the look and feel and food of a small sushi restaurant in Japan.

Family owned and operated. Friendly atmosphere generated by staff and customers. Authentic Japanese food - sushi, noodles, tempura. Reasonable prices for good quality & quantity. This restaurant is a real sushi taste. It serves some of the tastiest sushi foods. I totally recommend going there. We went there for dinner and the place was full which is a good sign. We didn't wait at all and had a table very quick. The sashimi was great and the sushi wonderful. Would come back a thousand times. Samurai Sushi is very popular among locals, and now I can attest why. Do not come here with high expectations for de luxe cuisine and immaculate service but do visit this hidden gem if you are in for a local vibe, a reasonable balance of price and quality, and ready to be amazed with incessant darting of waitresses and toiling... in the few days that we were here. Quite a bit of options and very generous on servings. Not the very best sashimi/sushi I've had but for what you get and pay, very good value!
