where to get sushi grade fish calgary

Eh ether you want a leisurely walk or a hike or a bike ride it's all there to enjoy .bird watching is quite entertaining. On Christmas day we wanted a short hike to work off some of the festive meals but the roads were pretty bad. Fish Creek was perfect. It's right in Calgary but when you are there it feels like you are out in the country. We walked along the creek to look at a frozen waterfall and a couple small caves... So awesome to have such an amazing place in Calgary. Great trails with wonderful sights and sounds. Just like being in the bush, yet it's in the city. So if you want or need a bit of nature, and not enough time to go camping. This is the spot to get that nature fix. Great location and wildlife. Very peaceful and the paths are wonderful. It is a great spot to enjoy the outdoors. There are many points of entry and each one gives a different experience and types of natural flora. My favorite section is below Woodlands. Fish Creek Park is huge.

You can explore on foot or on bike for hours and still only see a fraction of the park. Part of the city but far away when you are in the park. We are mountain bikers and hikers using this giant park to taste and enjoy the wild nature in the heart of Calgary. Anywhere we turn int he park on the designated trails or paths we may use, we are surrounded by the sound and view of the wild nature, all sort of birds and wild games on many occasion. Fish Creek Park is a provincial park within the City of Calgary. It is one of the largest urban parks in Canada. It stretches from the Indian reserve in the west all the way down to the Bow River in the east. There is many kilometres of walking and cycling paths, within the park, which connect to the city network... Fish Creek offers a wide selection of hikes which might take you along secluded paths, beside bubbling streams, or open meadows and river's edge. Whichever point of entry you choose the park surrounds you with sights and sounds of nature.

A retreat within a busy city. We live close and it is so nice to take my dogs and walk thru the park. There is always lots of wildlife to see and it is quite relaxing. Came here in mid-December with some colleagues after work. We were all in the mood for some beer/wine and to share appetizers rather than order meals. I am typically not the biggest sushi fan, but will admit the sushi here was quite good. Lots of original choices. We all ordered different appetizers to share. I liked them all. I stopped in for an impromptu late lunch. The bar snacks menu was simple. Try the KFC chicken. All the sushi and sashimi recommendations were spot on. The service was great. I will definitely return the next time I'm back in Calgary. I've had my fair share of sushi and this was just plain underwhelming.

Nothing exceptional, very expensive ($7 miso soup!) and pretty run-of-the-mill menu. Had high hopes, but I don't plan to return. Tried the salmon roll, dragon roll, miso and tempura. Sapporo was good though! Ki Modern is a nice upscale looking restaurant serving interesting fusion style Japanese food. If you're looking for a twist of dishes, then you can try this place however if you're looking for value dishes this probably not the place for you. We ordered vegetable tempura, dynamite roll, teriyaki chicken and sable fish. The vegetable tempura was delicious - light... I went there a few times recently at lunch time. I had various sashimis, sushis and rolls and they were all delicious. I recommend specifically the oil/butter fish (called escolar) and their hamachi with jalapeño. I went once with a group and the waiter just brought us many different plates, from sushis to beef, chicken skewers and veggies. “Good service and lunch” We were staying at the Westin hotel which is next door to this restaurant and needed a place for a light meal and drink.

We sat in the lounge area and were happy to hear that it was Happy Hour with good prices on wine and appies. I am vegetarian and unfortunately there was nothing on the appies list that... I've walked by Ki many times as it's by the Downtown Westin and lots of office towers. Despite its large size, I rarely see anyone eating there. The menu looked good, so worth a shot. Service was fast, menu had traditional Japanese fare, plus sushi and sashimi, although everything I ordered had some type of sauce or ingredient that made... I went there at lunch time and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sushis and service received. The waitress offered us delicious hamachi as a taster. It was very fresh, served as sashimi (and well cut) w a jalapeño pepper on top. Just the perfect balance of spicy whilst still tasting the fish! All the sashimi we had... “Very fresh and tasty food” Dropped by for a evening light dinner - in the lounge. Couldn't read menu - too dark - they only have 5 or 6 reds by the glass on the menu - they ran out - tempranillio sub was good.
