Look for shrimp with firm white meat and a full shell.

They should be displayed on fresh ice. Do not buy shrimp with black spots or rings on the shell (unless you are buying black tiger shrimp) as this indicates that the meat is starting to break down. Shrimp should smell briny and sweet. Plan on a quarter to a third of a pound per person for a cocktail and a half a pound per person if it’s a main course. All shrimp are sold by sizes and are based on the approximate number of shrimp per pound. Preparing:To devein shrimp, run a sharp paring knife along the back of the shrimp, cutting through the shell just deep enough to expose a thin black vein. This is the shrimp’s digestive tract, and it can be bitter. Once you have exposed this black vein, use a small knife to remove it. Please note that many cooks don’t bother with this time consuming task and simply leave the black vein in place. It’s up to you. (Many kitchenware stores carry a nifty gadget for removing the tract. If you are a shrimp lover, it may be a good investment.)

Place on stove, stirring from time to time. Just before boiling, a froth will come to the top. Turn off and let shrimp sit in the water for about three minutes until the shrimp curls around and the tail almost touches the other end. Remove from the stove. Run cold water into pot to slowly cool down. Once cooled, remove shells (but leave the tail shell for a handle). Place in refrigerator until ready to eat. First time customer today...pleasantly surprised. The service and food were awesome...definitely try their alligator and crawfish. In fact, the gator was much better than what I've eaten down in Louisiana.

I will be eating here again. As for recommendations, I have only one...I've seen the old menu somewhere on the net...go back to it...offerings looked awesome and more numerous than... This used to be our go to restaurant. Our favorite dish, the half chicken is gone. No chicken to choose from at all. The caprese chicken sandwich was minuscule. As was the side. The BBQ while not horrible was cold when served. To top it off we never got our bread or a salad that had been... I heard they were making a new menu so I had to go check it out... I actually enjoy the new items and think it was much needed for the restaurant! The atmosphere is always really cool so it's nice to see them working on some better food options and completing the dining experience with some new ideas! Good Seafood, generous portions, huge saltwater aquarium, but at a price. Kids of all ages love to watch the fish.Have stopped at Bass Pro Shop multiple times and always saw the restaurant full. Tried to get in a couple of times but the wait was too long...so you think, it must be good.

Brought the grandkids up to visit Santa so had plenty of time to put our name on the list. Time was just as they... Where do I start. Our golf group came here after a round of golf nearby. Our waitress took our drink order. After 20 min, still nothing. Four thirsty golfers looking for a cold beer and you can't even get drinks out in under 20 min!?? The appetizers of crawfish tails and alligator nuggets were edible but nothing special. The menu has been severely cut back and eliminated much of the seafood selections. This was a huge disappointment from previous visits. I ordered the clam chowder that was overdone and likely sitting all day. We had flatbread as an app which was doughy and bare of ingredients. Due to the lack of seafood, I ordered a sirloin. “Not that great, disappointed from previous visits” Been meaning to come for a while, so glad I finally did. The food was fantastic. Perfectly cooked steak, and a great cut of meat. Venison stuffed mushrooms were amazing.
