this place has excellent sushi and cheap prices. that's a rare combination. try the "roll combo" feeds 2-3 people for about $15 has 3 different rolls. When I bough sushi at To Go Sushi, I just had a taste for some decent sushi. What I got, was very surprising, in a good way. The salmon was very fresh, no odor at all. I also ordered the miso soup for a $1.50 and it was delicious. They have several tempura dishes, and teriyaki boxes that remind me... I have only had salmon sushi here. It has always been very good. I reserve great for other places. Not bad when your hungry at lunch with no time. I did try the seaweed salad, that was very good.The service is extrememly slow. If someone is in front of you, plan on waiting 20 minutes minimum. It appears to be a one chef shop. Very small, a few tables and each needed to be wiped down. The one woman we encountered didn't have any excuse such as she was too busy to clean the tables either. It was abt 1p.m. and no one was there!
Her English wasn't very good and rather than try to understand we needed gluten free (no Imitation crab but...We travel to Palm Springs several times a year and just discovered this little gem, which apparently just recently opened. Sashimi is one of my favorite things. Their deluxe sashimi platter was one of the best I've had. Generous portions of tuna, red snapper, hokigai clam, salmon, mixed spicy sashimi, and squid beautifully arranged. It is clean, the service is amazing, the chef and staff is very personable and friendly, not to mention the food is Fantastic!! They have a menu to suit everyone and the costs are very reasonable. If I could recommend a casual place to have sushi without breaking your pocketbook, I would totally recommend Sushi Café. The schnitzel is amazing and the pastas are all excellent. Service is hit and miss because they seem to always be getting new servers, but the effort is there and their attitude is great.
