Staff were excellent and extremely friendly. Great place to stop off in. The Heron was a great little find on my most recent trip to London. Not only is it a fantastic, cosy little bar within a stone's throw of both Paddington and Oxford Street but it's a world away from all the hustle and bustle with some top beers, spirits and memorabilia to gaze at.

The fireplace in the pub takes...A recent refurb seems to include a changed menu, sadly for the (much) worse. This pub used to have a fantastic Thai menu, with a huge variety of flavoursome dishes including items such as century eggs. It now has standard dishes that you can get anywhere and quality is poor. Larb was hot but without the sour/salty flavours... I've been here just 30 minutes ago with couple of friends. After ordering beer, couple of waters, nuts, crisps and coke and spending in a pub about 30 minutes were asked to leave place because we need to order more food. Also barman had a problem with us watching football in open space near bar. Never had such a bad... The food is absolutely delicious, the prices are acceptable. Drinks are fairly cheap as they use the pub upstairs. The service was average and one guy struggled to understand English I am a honest reviewer, I went here with my husband and one year old daughter as we were in London. And went here on the strength of the reviews.

After being seated promptly, we order three dishes. The catfish salad, massamum curry and rice. Catfish salad was NOT pieces of fish but what looked like deep fried sand, with... The food of this place, if you find it in the basement of a pub (The Heron) is so good, a little Thai holiday in London. Defently not for beginners. If you like Thai food and you already had origin Thai food this is the place for you. We went there with frinds just to keep up some great holiday... A thai restaurant full of regular thai costumers is always a good sign. My Thai friends and I go here weekly. The best authentic thai food London has to offer! And very cheap as well! You could find thai rare dishes, for me it is cod roe gang som, soup nor mai and tub waan. I almost don't want to share this place but the guys who run it are so lovely, they deserve the business! It is tucked away but just 10 minutes walk from Paddington station so very handy. Service is quick and helpful.
