Loud, but fun Atmosphere. If they tell you 45 minute wait, it's actually15-20. Loved the food quality ! The food was just amazing, and I eat Sushi from many different places. The service was great. We stumbled upon this place on a recent visit. The menu was large and we had a hard time deciding. We finally decided on 2 rolls, animal style and the Refreshing. We loved the citrus flavor of the refreshing. We like to try unique rolls and these were both different from anything we have ever had. Found this place whilst walking down Main Street Sat outside to enjoy the street scene and the sunshine Had a look at menu and decided to order a Bento box and a bowl of chicken teriyaki fir $5.95 which also came with bowl of miso soup!! Amazing I expected a tiny meal and got heaps the only complaint is that... This is not a "standard" sushi place. It has managed to fuse a sense of Thai, American and other food contexts into the menu. We had a number of "tapas" and found all quite enjoyable. Yes, sushi but with a nice twist. On our last night, we met several relatives at Sushi On Fire for dinner but the place was busy on Friday night so the host told us to walk down the street to the sister restaurant that could accommodate a group of 7 which was nice of them. So yes this is an Americanized sushi restaurant but the creativity of the chefs is definitely authentic. We sat at the sushi bar and allowed the chefs to make us whatever they wanted. I eat here as often as I possibly can - the food and the atmosphere and the staff are all incredible. They have a fantastic happy hour option during the weekday from 2-5 where it's 20% off for locals. I recommend the "3's Company" and "galaxy" rolls. If you have a bit of an adventurous taste for sushi, and enjoy excellent quality, this is the place for you. We were in Long Beach for just 2 days, staying at the Queen Mary, and took 2 buses to get there. x2.....we went on first day and... The 911 roll is delicious! They have a robust menu with lots and lots of rolls to choose from. Everything came out great! We came here during lunch hour and they had good lunch deals as well.
