We both love sushi and eat it on a regular basis and this sushi was very fresh! We sat at the sushi bar since there were no tables available (shows it isa popular place amongst locals) and loved watching the... Not sure what the big deal is about this place. Service wasn't too great, took forever to get drinks and food, and when the sushi came it was ice cold. One piece was actually partially frozen. Not much from the outside, but the sushi is top notch!! The staff were extremely nice and very good. I went there twice and each time had a great experience. The sushi was fresh and the sake was outstanding. Quite cheap and they have a happy hour from 5pm to 7pm! Food was nice, had a combo and it was very filling. Service was a bit rusty but can be forgiven! Nice, traditional sushi bar right on Lombard! I got great sushi at ridiculously low cost. Super nice staff as well. The sushi was very good. Both the ones who were fresh and the tempura. It was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant, however the service was not as good.
The prices was okay, you got a whole maki-role for 9-13 dollars. Food Is good but I came with a group of friends (16-18 years old) and the service charge was 18% so we had to pay 30$ extra. the service was very poor so we shouldn't have to pay that much money. Ifound the fish to be fresh and the happy hour special has sashimi for $1 - hard to beat. The only issue was it smelled a little fishy but then agagin they are serving freash fish! I last came to this restaurant in 1998 having been recommended it by my mum who ate here frequently when she was in San Fran. I remembered it being well worth a visit when I came with my wife and baby this week so spent a little while searching for it around Lombard and Chestnut as I could remember neither... I went here with my husband and we were very satisfied. It was a busy place but they made room for us at the bar . The sushi was amazing and the prices were good! We were lucky to have been there for happy hour on a Saturday night so saki and beer were half off.
