Since closing the club and putting the music projects on hold, he was busy launching The Palomar, which, upon two visits and being an extremely picky eater, is probably my fave restaurant in London. It’s tiny, loud and has the sort of inventive, delicious and bold Israeli-Mediterranean dishes that make everyone leave with smiles and happy stomach’s.  ) I’ve had terrible luck getting reservations at other top Japanese restaurants in London like Sushi Tetsu and while the former chef is now at The Shiori, I always try to find time for Umu when in London. Far more value then what you’d get at Nobu, with a vast and impressive sake list, quality and inventive sushi, it is still on my list of top Japanese restaurants in London. Incidentally, the most epic dinner I had here was with actor Idris Elba (while he was shooting Prometheus), Aloe Blacc, Carl Cox, Layo Paskin and other friends.

But as my London stops tend to be usually a quick in and out, I make Layers a necessary stop due to its location and the amazing selection of the sort of edgy clothing I tend to gravitate towards.
