Kenny Kunene was raised by his mother and grandparents. Kunene's mother has served as an Evangelist and faith healer. While he was growing up near Odendaalsrus his grandmother, a midwife, was the family's sole breadwinner. Kunene attended Vista University and later became an English teacher.[2] Kunene later turned to crime, however, and was imprisoned from 1997 to 2003 after being convicted of running a ponzi scheme.[2] While in prison, he often organized parties among the inmates to build goodwill among his fellow inmates.[3] After he was released he began marketing the work of former bank robber Gayton McKenzie who had since become a motivational speaker.

Kunene and McKenzie then invested in a seafood distribution business. Kunene has also worked as a public relations consultant and lobbyist for mining companies.[1] In March 2012 the Hawks (special police investigative unit) spokesman McIntosh Polela confirmed that the Hawks have done an investigation into Kunene regarding fraudulent representations to communities and potential shareholders as part of the application for mining rights by Central Rand Gold (CRG).[4] No charges were, however, ever levelled. Kunene was a supporter of the African National Congress until 2013 when he wrote a scathing open letter to President Jacob Zuma criticising his leadership.[5] In July 2013, Kunene briefly joined the Economic Freedom Fighters as a high-profile member of the organisation's "Central Command Team" before resigning from the organisation in August 2013. In November 2013 Kunene became the Secretary-General of a newly formed political party, the Patriotic Alliance. Kunene currently lives with his three children in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Kunene is known for his appreciation of sushi, and has been referred to in South Africa as "The Sushi King" or "Mr. Sushi". His birthday party on 21 October 2010 that hosted the then ANCYL president Julius Malema and featured nyotaimori[9] was criticised by COSATU secretary general Zwelinzima Vavi, leading to a political row.[11] Also, the ANCWL condemned nyotaimori at Kunene's party as an attack on the bodily integrity and dignity of women in South Africa. Kenny Kunene was the star of South African reality television show So What: Big Money, Big Dreams which aired on e.tv during 2011. In 2013 he appeared in the fourth episode of the British travel documentary television series The Moaning of Life. In April 2014, Kunene was the Roastee of Comedy Central Africa's Roast of Kenny Kunene. ^ a b c d ^ a b c ^ Malema Eats Sushi With Kenny, Zalebs ^ Vavi's Sushi War Hots Up, The Sowetan, 29 October 2010 ^ COSATU Deputy Lashes Kunene, The Sowetan, 1 November 2010

where can i buy sushi tuna Husband wanted sushi which I am not a fan. I prefer Hibachi with rice or noodles.

We drove by a few locations of other restaurants that seemed sketchy but Oishi is right near William and Mary college on a cute street. Not in a seedy strip mall like some others. Husband had the Godzilla and Volcano rolls and I had... I have often eaten here for lunch. This is one of the few times I have been for dinner. The menu is more varied and every thing we had was good. Volcano Roll, Christmas Roll, and Guoza apps stand out. “Sushi lunch served up quickly” First time here, great selection from the menu. Wife is not really into Sushi, but liked it. Salad bar was rather poor. Use with a Groupon for a great value. While the food there was good (had sushi and specialty rolls), it is overshadowed by the worst service I've had at a restaurant in many years. Their AYCE concept is to order one piece at a time. After 1 hour there, I'd been served 2 (yes, TWO) pieces of sushi. So on the next order, we ordered multiple pieces, which... Started out slightly confused as how everything worked .

Nice clean establishment . With great wait staff very friendly and helpfull. Sushi was good and as much as you would like . If I lived in the area I would be a regular . Tons on menu, all you can eat style. You order 1 item at a time. Freshly made but sushi for the masses. We found this location on Groupon and thought we would try it out for date night. I thought the price we paid on Groupon was a great deal. The normal price is a little high. Everyone in nearby Richmond talks about Sushi King. While in Williamsburg I decided to try it. Initially I didn't understand the all you can eat aspect since it's not a buffet but thankfully I was with "veterans" and they told me what to do. The food is good and fast but do not be wasteful because they will charge you... The $12.99 lunch is hard to beat. The soups and appetizers are always good. The sushi is fresh and served up quickly. The per piece sushi servings are on the small size, but you can order all you want. The Volcano roll, and Christmas roll are some favorites.
