Kenjo was recommended to me by the concierge at my hotel. I was skeptical when I first went in. They had taken my reservation over the phone but when I walked in, it was almost empty! I was seated at the sushi bar. The decor is really simple. Nothing pretentious at all. Somewhat bright lighting and sort of cluttered. We had the pleasure of personally being served by the owner here and I promise you having traveled around the world this was some of the best Sushi I ever had. We were invited for sushi here by a business associate during a recent trip. The restaurant was a little hard to find - a small hidden gem in the busy Tsim Sha Tsui area of Hong Kong.
The sushi and sashimi were so fresh, like none I have had before. If you are looking for outstanding sushi, over a fancy... I've heard great things about this restaurant and decided to come for lunch. This is as authentic as Japanese food in HK gets. The lunch menu was great and do try the omakase if you have the time. The chef recommends a great assortment of fresh fish. Always book in advance to secure your table as this place is so popular! What else - food is great great great 👍🏽 and lunch menu is super good value for money . Yummy yummy yummy 😋 Absolutely disgusted by the chefs of the place, I literally saw one pick his nose while cooking and another kept wiping the sweat of his forehead with his hand while cooking. Was tempted to call the government to report. This was like adding insult to injury in a place that was overrated and overpriced. There are way better and more... This place looked closed but we could see diners eating through the slatted blinds and once inside, it's busy but very authentically Japanese, with nice ambiance. The
food was fresh and well prepared but we thought quite pricy. All the comments from bellow are true. Sashimi was fresh and very tasty. Upon my visit they had a special sashimi option which was an interesting new experience, baby tuna. Location: I found it a bit tricky to find. there are almost no clear signs, the doors are wooden slidedoors so do not be affraid to just move them. It Hidden place in a blind street, you got to know it to go there. Quiet atmosphere, right after you get a seat the show begins. As I was with a regular customer, we just let Kendo and his team dish out the best of what they had: baby tuna, king-size oyster, semi-fat tuna, burbot liver, toro-tuna, sea urchins, wagyu beef... One of the best sushi experiences of my life. Granted, the prices are dear but what else would you expect with the finest ingredients. If you sit at the sushi bar allow Kenjo to do his magic and you won't be disappointed. The 15 Best Places for Sushi in Hong KongCreated by Foursquare Lists Sushi KuuLove the creative sushi rolls, must trys are the dragon roll and rainbow roll.
