My sister and I went to dinner at Samurai Sushi. We ordered gyosa and the small sushi boat. The $60 boat was too much for the two of us. I started in on the leftovers first thing in the morning and was still enjoying the sushi at lunch. It all tasted fresh even the next day. I have had a... Nice little joint we found from a trip advisor search. Great sushi, very friendly staff. Kacey Lee was our sushi maker. Very nice guy, even threw in a few small extras. Went for business lunch @ Samurai Sushi, we sat at the bar, the food was fresh and made in front of us, I had the Kalbi Box which has a mixture of beef Kalbi Ribs, California Roll, white rice and tempura, vegetables and shrimp. Have ate here in the past and was not disappointed. We had fast service the waitress... Second time visiting, and will keep coming back! Haven't had something I didn't like yet. All the sushi rolls are wonderful and fresh. You will never go without being checked on, a refill, etc. Korean run sushi restaurant (most Anchorage sushi places are), very good original sushi rolls.

We had the volcano roll and one other than definitely didn't need soy sauce since they had other flavorful sauces on them. I didn't try their sashimi or traditional sushi so I don't know what to say about that. My favorite sushi for 15 yrs. Wide selection of sushi rolls with more than one kind of fish/seafood, mixed with cucumber/asparagus/avocado, topped with 2 to 3 kinds of sauces. Each slice is generous, big for just one bite. Oh Baby Roll is a choice without rice and seaweed. Our to go place for sushi. Service was good as always. Big variety of rolls and shrimp tempura appetitizer was delicious. Started to get busy about 6 pm for dinner. Plum wine was also great. We were the only ones in the dining room, so we had excellent service. The sushi rolls are properly prepared and the menu is extensive. Try the special Alaskan rolls. The dumplings are nice as well. We enjoyed the meal--worth a visit. We ordered one of the expensive rolls with unagi because we love eel, we were disappointed with the minuscule amount of eel in the roll.

The rice was mushy - not even proper sushi rice, and the roll itself was soggy. The vibe is amazing, the food is out of this world, and the staff are really friendly. They always have smiles and are more than welcoming. They are reasonably priced as well and their food is out of this world.
