I checked TSA's website for info and it was somewhat helpful , but I'm also looking for advice from RECENT travelers and any problems that you encountered ?

Can I bring wrapped presents in my carryon luggage on the plane? Can I bring my own food (apple, sandwich, etc.), just NOT any liquids? How bad is SFO's TSA? TIA for any and all good advice ! 3,874 posts, read 14,030,995 timesTransportation Security Administration | 4,720 posts, read 10,632,528 times Thank you both for posting ! Now, as far as some of the other posts go, standards are different if you're flying in the USA than if you're flying internationally. Things you can take on board here are not allowed a lot of places. I had a layover in Fiji and they took my fingernail scissors (all of 1" long blades!), my embroidery needles, a small unopened packet of beef jerky, my small bamboo embroidery hoop, three packets of cheese crackers, and a pair of fingernail clippers.

I've also actually worked at a few BBQ restaurants in town and I can tell you with certainty that they are NOT the only 'real barbecue' for 100 miles. That's a totally ridiculous statement. I, personally, wasn't crazy about the BBQ here. There was just way too much sauce on it for my liking and it seemed like because it was so, so, so busy that they were not able to give the food the attention it needed. I feel like I recall not being able to ask for any substitutions or not being able to deviate from the way things are written on the menu because it was too busy for them to be able to do that. It was like a BBQ conveyor belt. Not terrible, certainly not the worst BBQ I've ever eaten, but I would not say it is the best in the city.
