That said, they had no record of my phone in order. Mind you, it was a VERY simple order with just one item and the person took my phone number but, in spite of the fact that I had called a mere five minutes before, there was no one in place who could figure it out. Luckily it was just... This place has very good sushi at extremely reasonable prices. The California rolls are especially good, and so are the dumplings (I suggest both). Other reviewers seem to love this place, but in my opinion it is overpriced and the sushi, in particular, is not that good. Last time I had sushi here it was mediocre and fairly pricey. However, some of their Chinese food items are quite good, including the duck dishes and the curry items. Their decor needs some sprucing up--it looks... Good lunch specials, service is fast, check out the benton boxes. Been here many times place is consistently good. Food is great, tasty and quite economical. Found spice level really good. decent parking space outside.
I found this restaurant by reference and recommendation from locals while on a business trip. Good value for price/dinner, I visited the place in the company of 5 other colleagues. Warm attention, calmed and friendly atmosphere. My wife and I used to come here all the time for the sushi. Then you have kids and are out of the loop for a couple years. So Saturday night was probably the first time we have been back to Sumo in 5 years or so. Why had it been so long? The sashimi was fantastic,... Special rolls are very good. we have been coming here for years. They also have Chinese food. Can't say we come here for that but we always get one dish for dinner along with the sushi/sashimi. Staff will get to know you if you come often enough. It's BYOB which is always a plus. This is favorite place for lunch with co-workers or dinner with family. I highly recommend it! The bento boxes are a great value. Where else can you get a generous entree, rice, full California roll, dumpling soup and a decent mixed-greens salad for $9!!
This is a Japanese restaurant that does imaginative, seasonal Japanese food well but tacks on Chinese dishes as an afterthought. The General Tsao's chicken I ordered as a lunch special was actually a very basic sweet-and-sour chicken that bore...“Just found out it's BYOB too so it would be nice to have a date night here.”sushi grade fish billingsgate “Take out is FAST & you can't beat their lunchbox special til 3pm -- 3 rolls (8 pieces each) and miso soup for $10.95.”sumo sushi menu cr 210 “The Party Platter for 4 includes a California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Unagi (eel) roll, Alaska roll, Rainbow Roll, and Dragon roll.”sushi conveyor belt alpharetta
"This place is as good as it gets, but I'm giving it 4 stars because the service is terrible. The waiters are rude and passive aggressive, two traits that I absolutely cannot tolerate in a restaurant…" "I went here on a a Saturday night around 9pm. "For months we passed this place without ever thinking of going in, one day a menu was left in out mailbox and we have been hooked since. The quality of the Sushi here is on par with most Sushi restaurants…"Sushi Night at Trenton Social, 449 S Broad Street, Trenton, NJFirst Wed of each month (5PM-10PM)(609) 989-7777   Website    Google Maps Gravitas:   Decor:   Cost:   Proximity:On the first Wednesday of every month, Trenton Social transforms itself into a surprisingly good sushi bar.  How do they do it?  A visit from chef Charlie Yeh, of Pennington’s Sumo Sushi, who brings a mobile sushi bar and a creative menu of special rolls. As sushi goes, Charlie’s rolls are pretty grand. The rice is well-seasoned and near-perfect in texture, and the ingredients are always top-grade.  His combinations and creative rolls are delicious, though the choices are somewhat limited (typically 4-5 appetizers, 6 or so regular rolls, and maybe 10 fancy rolls).  We’ve tagged it as vegetarian and vegan friendly though, as Charlie is making everything to-order and is always willing to make something off-menu for vegetarians when there isn’t a vegetarian roll featured.
Expect to pay $15 for a special roll, or the same amount for two regular rolls, but with quality this good you shouldn’t expect to skimp. Given that we have found no other restaurant that offers sushi within city limits, this monthly feast is a welcome respite from our regular barren sushi landscape. Because you’re dining in Trenton Social, you’ll experience the warm atmosphere and neighborhood vibe that makes it one of our favorite bars in the city. You can also order off the regular Trenton Social menu, and of course order any of the draft beers, mixed drinks, wines, or spirits that the Social bartenders provide. Expect to be treated by TC, the gregarious bar-owner, and by Gabrielle, one of our favorite waitresses of any establishment ever. There is other sushi in the area, and you can read our reviews in Hidden Trenton’s sushi round-up. None of it is quite as good. Of course, you could always travel over to Pennington and visit Sumo Sushi any other night of the month (they are BYOB, so it’s more of a bargain, and they certainly offer a more extensive restaurant menu), but why not let the sushi come to you, and enjoy it within your hometown?
