“I don't usually do specialty rolls as they are too costly, but the "reverse happy hour" from 9pm till close changed my mind.” “We've been trying different sushi restaurants around the Westlake/Thousand Oaks area and this is one of our favorites.” “also for non-raw fish eating peeps there's the The HOT roll- a tempura deep fried spicy tuna roll with cream cheese and jalapeno ..” "This is my go to place for things like ginger garlic paste, big bags of mung beans, and boxes of turmeric. Yes, it is an Asian/Indian grocery, and right in the heart of Thousand Oaks. "I took my honey to this restaurant for his birthday because it looked interesting. "I don't even really need to make this long. I'm from out of town. Went there for lunch yesterday and no joke the most beautiful girl gave me my food. I fell in love in a second. But the food was seriously…" We stopped in for a quick dinner and we were not disappointed! The restaurant was busy but we were seated and served right away. My husband and daughter ordered several kinds of sushi and enjoyed them all. I am not a fan of sushi so I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box. The food was very good and the happy... they have decent prices, the service was friendly and quick, however the food was nothing to write home about. I ate at this outfit two nights in a row. A popular place judging by the crowd on weeknights. Loved the flying fish roe and sweet shrimps. With 5 chefs working frantically at the bar, food was served fast. A large hot sake for $2.95 before 6 pm! enjoyed a night of excellent Sushi and great service. We arrived 5 minutes before happy hour ended and the hostess offered to honor the happy hour price for our beers while we waited for a table.

Sumo is probably my favorite place in the Thousand Oaks area to get sushi. I'm a vegetarian, so I have only tried the vegetarian rolls (my favorite is the avocado roll, packed with avocado and so so good) but friends have praised their sushi with fish as well. Also, as weird as it sounds, I love the cajun fries. There's a lot of great sushi near here though. I am not a good customer, I ask for off menu stuff . . .

A nice family owned restaurant that has been in the Conejo Valley for years. My family and I enjoy an evening out for Sushi and find it even more enjoyable when we are helping out a local family owned business in the process. Sushi Yusho is certainly not Nobu, but it is also not King Kong Sushi (in the Janss... The sushi at Sushi Yusho is the best around and definitely the best value. We have tried many rolls, sashimi, tempura, miso soup, etc. and it's all been delicious. It's a small, friendly, family run restaurant. The fish is always fresh. Try the specialty rolls. We love the house roll, Mike and Tracy roll, and many others. Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, which I've been visiting nearly weekly for the last decade. Easily the best sushi in Newbury Park, and maybe in Ventura County. Even better than fancier, more expensive L.A. haunts like Katsuya. For those that aren't fish lovers, the Katie Roll (with tempura fried yams) is a must. But for the regular...
