The place is simply amazing and the food is something we will remember for a long time. Try the hot pot (the specialty here). Waiters kind and helpful. This restaurant, better known as Kappo Yoshiba, is in a former sumo training stable and still has a ring you can sit near and go onto. It is a large, colorful place, with plenty of atmosphere, especially if you like to watch large parties of businessmen drinking heavily and talking loudly. The acoustics are fine so the noise doesn't irritate.... We went here for lunch instead of getting food at the Ryogoku Kokugikan. The restaurant is in an old sumo wrestler training stable and still has a wrestling ring in the middle. The service was prompt and the atmostphere very pleasant. Smoking is allowed inside which was a bit off-putting. The menu has pictures on it - very useful given... Food was lovely - I loved the seafood salat, Staff was very friendly, helpful and smiling. Mane business men coming here. There are several chankonabe restaurants in the area, but this is unique because it has a sumo dohyo (ring) in the middle of the restaurant.
