The lab group, however, did something surprising for lunch: we all went out to a restaurant for a meal.  About ten of us moseyed out of the campus and past the safety signs, where Beoka and Morita-san posed with the flyers, riffs on the Mona Lisa and the three little pigs/big bad wolf. Our destination: スシロー (Sushiro-), a purveyor of 回転寿司 (kaiten zushi, or “conveyor belt sushi”). We’ve all seen sushi moat restaurants where small boats of sushi float in a circular body of water surrounding chefs making rolls and tiny dishes; here was the Japanese original. Aikawa-san was super amped to pour hot water for まっ茶: the restaurant provides a jar of powdered tea, and each table has a hot water spigot. Nigiri-zushi perpetually goes around on the conveyor belt.  There’s even a machine in back for forming the little rounds of rice. You place your order by interacting with a tablet. A few minutes later a pleasant voice announces that your food is arriving.

Aikawa-san was super excited for all the onigiri-zushi.  Tani-san was skeptical of Aikawa-san’s ability to put away all this fish. We returned to JAXA.  Morita photobombed as I tried to take a photo of a water filtration device outside of the hypersonic wind tunnel. Maro-san posed with his inspirational shirt. I gathered my bags and hopped on a bus to Kichijōji, then a train to Kanda Station to meet Yuka for dinner, and finally another train to Haneda to fly out of Japan and back to the US.sushi online sklep In only six weeks I’d traversed Japan, visiting about a sixth of the prefectures in a country which has in total 47.  aki sushi order onlineI’d made friends who were not only Americans, but from Thailand, China, Hong Kong, and of course, Japan.  My ability to decipher kanji, and to read kana, improved tremendously.  My spoken Japanese didn’t improve as much as I would have liked, but my vocabulary increased, as did my appreciation for the language and culture.

The service was quick and easy too, only slight language barriers when we asked for more ginger and water.

We sat in a quiet little booth which was quite romantic and thoughtful when we booked ahead that... Fantastic food, lovely décor and good prices (lunch anyway). Only downside was music a bit loud which made it a bit difficult to talk. My girlfriend and I had the teriyaki chicken dinner meal and it was delicious. Clean, neat, wholesome and inexpensive makes Kushi the best in town. The previous reviews for this one were spot on. Lovely food, lovey staff and Huge portions! They don't allude to how big their dishes are and having not been here before it proved to be an issue for our table of 10. We collectively ordered 4 Karaage chicken, 2 teriyaki chicken set meals, 1 beef teppan, 1... I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken dinner set which included a huge amount of food and it was very reasonably priced ($30).

It was new years eve and the restaurant was very busy however the service was fantastic.There was a taiko drum performance, which was awesome to see! I was so pleased to find Kushi and visited on three occasions during a business trip to Auckland. Such good service and excellent food. Nothing was a problem especially when I requested a few minor changes to my order. Timing was impeccable and the cost in relation to what I received represented very good value. Tasty food and good service... This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to. Great food and good sized serves. Catered for my family who had food allergies as well with no issue. Stopped by here on Christmas Eve. The food was delicious and fresh. I wish they had more sushi options but overall great. The sake was amazing. My husband and I dined here - we shared Cheese Kushi Age (deep fried camembert with tonkatsu sauce), Beef Tatami, Buta No Kakuni (pork belly) and Vegetable Tempura. There was a lot of food, we definitely could not have eaten any more.
