Oddly, the sushi we had was almost compl ...Oddly, the sushi we had was almost completely without flavor. I've had a lot of sushi and although there wasn't a hint of any negative fishy taste, it's the worst sushi I've ever had. Specifically, the Park Avenue and the Rainbow Roll were awful. We could have been eating rubber. There was simply no flavor. On the other hand, the Spring Roll was delicious, as was the Tuna Tataku. Also the service was excellent, and the restaurant and rest room was very clean. But the rolls were so bad we couldn't finish them. Was this review useful to you?YesNoReport1352The manager, David was so accommodating ...The manager, David was so accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.YesNoReport5555Sushi quality and size excellent. Sushi quality and size excellent. This location is far more sedate than Park Ave and Theater District .Servers are a little strange; not exactly attitude- just a little clueless.YesNoReport4323Had tickets to a show at the Joyce which ...

Had tickets to a show at the Joyce which is across the street . Popped in for a couple of appetizers and Lychee Martinis . Try the popcorn shrimp, yum .YesNoReport5555I have been to most of Harus except this ...I have been to most of Harus except this one, which I will not return. basily it's like eating at Windy's with bright lights and fast food place tables and chairs. Service was good but the food itself really is just ok. In NYC you have all these wonderful restaurants so go some place else. you will be happier.YesNoReport3143Haru is a step above bodega sushi. Haru is a step above bodega sushi. This was the second time I've gone to a Haru. The first one was Park Avenue and after that I said I'd never go back. It opened up a few blocks from my apartment in Chelsea with a 20% off. Not worth it at 50% off and first impressions should stick. Example: The Phoenix roll. Which is shrimp tempura wrapped with spicy tuna. It seems like they make the tempura shrimp early in the day so by the time you have it at night it's soggy and it taste stale.

Tim Porra is supposed to have a crunch this taste like it was left in the fridge all day. Salmon that they use if you look at it in the case looks terrible. Actually looks like it belongs on a bagel and not in sushi. It's excessively fatty while it's not being called fatty salmon. The food is just terrible. Service is fantastic and then it's where's Waldo. Seriously there are so many better sushi places to go. Chelsea Market or Momoya. You should really just skip this.YesNoReport1421very convenient before the Joyce Theatre ...very convenient before the Joyce Theatre. small menu but adequate with some pricey items but enough to choose from without breaking the bank. would be nice if combos came with soup or salad.Have been to the Haru ...Have been to the Haru in Times Square and am really glad it is in my neighborhood now.YesNoReport4544Have been to Happy Hour here which was g ...Have been to Happy Hour here which was great- Saturday we had dinner after a phenominal performance at the Joyce.

For the price i would have expected better, more refined flavorsYesNoReport2343Incredibly convenient to the Joyce Theat ...Incredibly convenient to the Joyce Theater and Live Arts, this new addition to Chelsea is a welcome one. The food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. Will definitely go back.Sushi took almos ...Sushi took almost 2 hours to come out. After about 90 minutes the waiter came over to apologize and offer us free drinks. However, when we got the bill they charged us for those very same "free" drinks, hoping we wouldn't notice. When I raised the issue stating that we wouldn't have ordered another round of drinks if they were not free the manager gave me attitude. He then reduced the bill to as he stated "appease me" by an amount that was LESS than the drinks they offered. After already fighting him once and waiting hours for our food I didn't have the energy to fight him again. Considering the wait, the bait and switch with the drinks, and headache of trying to get the drinks comped after they offered, the entire meal should've been refunded and they should've asked us back with a coupon of some sort to prove that the experience wasn't the norm.

I live in Chelsea and won't be back until it's remedied.YesNoReport1111Very nice authentic and modern sushi pla ...Very nice authentic and modern sushi place. Entrees arrived about 25 minutes after we ordered. Rolls were very 'loose'. Impossible to pick up with chopsticks. YesNoReport3332Everything was fine but there was a hicc ...Everything was fine but there was a hiccup to say the least over my reservation and seemingly no awareness that I have frequented different Harus in the City for years.

It was worked out by a manager but having a reservation and then being offered the sushi bar is not acceptable. In fairness everyone apologized when I called them out on it and I am willing to strike it up to a still relatively new venue.YesNoReport5333I eat out on-average 3 to 4 times a week ...I eat out on-average 3 to 4 times a week and disappointed with the service - which was sub-par. The wait time between entrees was long. The waiter only stopped by to check in on us after 3 dishes had already been served. He wasn't particularly polite and lacked good command of the menu (ingredients etc). Overall, I would give it a 6 rating. Hopefully, they will make adjustments. I would give it a second chance.YesNoReport3323I was just looking for an after-theatre ...I was just looking for an after-theatre restaurant and this place was just across the Joyce Theatre. The food, the service and the price were just right. I'd go back any time, with or without theatre.YesNoReport5455When our waiter came to our table, he di ...

When our waiter came to our table, he didn’t smile or greet us. He looked miserable and his poor attitude cast a dark cloud over our meal. When took our beverage order, we declined any alcohol, he actually seemed angry. When he reached across the table, to retrieve the glass closest to the sushi bar. But in doing so, nearly hit one of the diners in the face. My friend had to jump back to prevent from being touched. The waiter also moved my friend’s soy sauce dish and pre-set plate by touching the surface of the dish (instead of the edge). That lack of respect should have been a warning sign. When we ordered our meal, again the waiter looked miserable. I was informed that there was no miso soup. To have no miso soup at a sushi restaurant is akin to having no rice or fish! When our waiter brought our beverages, he kept slamming the glasses down on the stone table. I honestly thought they would break. We were also not informed, by our waiter or our menu, that there would be a surcharge for brown rice.
