The Tokyo To Go menu features a range of new fresh, light salads and cold rice pots as well as many classic YO! Sushi favourites including chicken katsu curry and stir-fried noodles. to pick up their food from their nearest YO! Sushi restaurant or arrange delivery to a local home or office address. Sashimi, from £4 - choose from Seared Beef Tataki which comes with four slices of pepper-seared rare beef and tangy coriander pesto or Albacore Truffle Ponzu Tataki, which comes with four slices of seared tuna with truffle ponzu dressing.
Sushi, from £5 - the Tsukiji Box comes with 1 salmon sushi, 1 albacore sushi, 1 ebi sushi, 1 saba sushi and 1 tuna sushi. Making an order could not have been easier. I visited the Yo Sushi! website, entered my postcode, chose my nearest restaurant and added dishes to my cart via Just Eat. Each dish was priced and described and everything was available for collection within 20 minutes. I popped into the Guildford restaurant in Friary Street on my way home from work. I parked along the High Street and walked down the hill to the restaurant. A friendly waitress manning the front desk took my name and my bag was ready for me. I didn't have to wait at all. Each dish was bursting with zesty and spicy flavours. With many of them garnished with ginger, each bowl certainly had a kick. Everything looked pretty and inviting, with the hot dishes served hot and cold dishes served cold. I ordered two different Chirashi pots - salmon and tofu. The sesame and soy marinated fish was thick and delicious and the herby tofu was creamy and flavoursome.
Each sat on a bed of soft and indulgent sushi rice, pickled cucumber and ginger. It was a luxurious pot of Japanese delights. I also tried the new Kimchi Ika, Seared Beef Tatak and Albacore Truffle Ponzu Tataki dishes. Each sealed in a plastic takeaway box to keep them fresh, the seafood and beef were moist, seasoned beautifully and absolutely wonderful to eat. The simple ingredients were flavoured with pungent dressings including coriander pesto, truffle and chilli. The sushi also failed to dissapoint. I ordered the Tsukiji Box which came with five thick wedges of sticky rice topped with fresh slabs of fish including prawn, tuna and salmon. One of the great things about Japanese food chains such as Yo Sushi! is that you can spend as much or as little as you want as there are various sized portions to suit each appetite. It's a bit like tapas where you can try a bit of everything. is a 'healthier fast-food chain', expect to pay a little more than you would at say McDonalds or Burger King.
