Since Umi was on my bookmarks list and she had dined and enjoyed the food there before, we decided to go with it. Umi Sushi is very narrow but they have plenty of seating. It was empty at around 7 but by the time... This restaurant is actually across the street from where TripAdvisor locates it. Great staff, they were quick and helpful with recommendations. We had a ton of sushi and the bill was under $100. The restaurant is quite large with a lot of seating in the back. The sushi rolls were creative, fresh, and tasty.

He enjoyed high quality sushi prepared lighting fast. The facility is a bit run down but the service, food and prices are right on. Where is the dragon? I love that sushi! Free Miso soup and free Sweet Potato roll. The service was great. You won't be disappointed. We enjoyed the dinner bento boxes which in comparison to most of the restaurants in New York were good value at $14.95 each.

Quality was good and there was plenty in a bento box for 1 (main protein eg Salmon teriyaki), rice, 6 veg sushi rolls, 4 pork dumplings, pickles & salad. This is a cute little place that's simple and unpretentious. The sushi here is pretty basic. Not great, but satisfying. Presentation is good and service is attentive, courteous and polite. I like it and wish I could give it more stars, but it's simply not up to it. The California roll that came with my sushi lunch special tasted like... I was in NYC for a recent business trip and went to Umi. The food was not that bad but the service was sub-par. We were sitting for probably 20 minutes before anyone approached us, and then another 10 before we could order. On nice days try and take a table in their little outdoor patio- Otherwise the indoor space... Umi Sushi is a nice place to eat. They serve good sushi but not great. Umi sushi is a nice place if you stay at Hotel 31. It would be a nice after you get off the subway stop.
