The sushi was very good!!! We had Gyoza and seaweed salad for an appetizer.. Then ordered two rolls: Spicy Volcano (ordered extra spicy) and Spicy Tuna.. The service was also excellent :) we will be back! It's been a while since I've been here and I must say, it's still good. I wish I had tried a larger appetizer but stuck with the miso soup; I just should have strayed farther. The sushi I had was fresh and tasty. I arrived late so I was the only one there for lunch. Absolutely the Best Sushi restaurant in Pensacola as they specialize in Sushi and Sashimi. A small quaint place that is peaceful and relaxing. A must for Sushi in Pensacola I usually get Sumo Sushi to go but we decided to eat in and it was deeeeelicious! The atmosphere was average, nothing over the top, simple. I recommend the appetizer, riblets cooked in some Korean BBQ sauce. The salmon was fresh. Walked out in a food coma. This was the worst service ever and the food was average. It was horrible i felt ike I was imposing by asking menu questions.
And the food was slow and the attitude maybe if the blue haired anorexic waitress was trained properly I Would come back We typically hit up Sumo Sushi 1-2 a month and love it! Cozy little place that's easy to find and centrally located. Our favorite is the Monkey Roll: smoked eel, cream cheese, avocado, topped with banana and eel sauce. Staff is very friendly. This place is worth your time. We are a Pensacola native and a 15-year Navy veteran; we've seen a lot of the world and all of this town. Tried Sumo Sushi tonight on a whim and look forward to becoming regulars. The Volcano and Cowboy rolls were fun, cowboy especially was a delicious interesting combination. We LOVED the traditional and... Not a lot to look at, but a convenient location and hands- down the best sushi rice and fish around. Generous portions, and masterfully crafted rolls and nigiri. Family-run by one of the best hostesses in Pensacola and her daughters - make sure to visit. I wish this place was open on Sundays!
