Got there early for lunch ($17.99) on New Years Eve and was able to sit at the bar. Sushi chef was very friendly and took great care of us. It's a good thing that we got there at 11:30 as it was packed by... Small, crowded, and a bit noisy. But fresh, friendly, fun, and fabulously delicious. I lived on Okinawa for 2 years and this place is the best I've found here so far. One of the least appealing Sushi Restaurants I have eaten in recently. There are much better options in Reno. Nigiri slices very small and some did not look really fresh. Rolls are small with small amounts of sushi-- no inspiring sauces. Overall would not go back. There were many people there --- likely from the neighborhood as it is convenient. My three sons and their wives and I all think Hiroba to be the best place for sushi in Reno. Out-of-towners are not used to the one price for "all you can eat" (includes free saki) but it makes the experience much more enjoyable. You can have as much as you want without worrying about additional charges.

Four of us went for lunch and did the $18 all you can eat. We were lucky to get a table as this place is normally crowded (there was a waiting line when we left). Our son says that the UNR crowd likes this place on weekend evenings. The others in our group like sushi better than... For $22.95 Hiroba Sushi is a lot of fun. Very Popular - but we arrived on a Thursday night and managed easily to get a seat at the bar. The staff were wonderful and unlike many all you can eat (e.g. Ijji in Reno) they were quick and not understaffed, so we didn't have to wait. The choices are very... Usually the food is very good, however not consistent. Last night when I was there it had something to be desired. The muscles did nit seem that fresh or tasty The salmon looked smaller than usual and did not have the flavor as in the past. The upside down shrimp did not look very appealing. I saw some new faces... Had so much fun. The staff is nice and quick and the sushi is the best. Try the mussels they are truly all you can eat.

We live in Lake Tahoe and we make the 45 minute drive to Hiroba for the sushi. Price is great and you get so much for the all you can eat sushi. Great sushi at any price but this happens to be the best overall sushi experience for a great price.
