I made a reservation at Arugalal in Brick and when I got there they were closed because they changed locations.

I shouldn't be able to make reservations at a restaurant that isn't open for business. Was this review useful to you?YesNoReport1111I made an online reservation through Ope ...I made an online reservation through Open Table online for Arugula on Bridge Ave for a party of 6 last Saturday night. I was fully aware that Arugula has another location at the White Sands Hotel in Point Pleasant Beach. We have eaten at both locations and prefer the Bridge Ave., Point Pleasant site. I received a reservation confirmation for the Bridge Ave. location. Our group arrived just prior to our 7 pm reservation only to find a "Closed" sign on the door. I'm sure you can imagine our disappointment and annoyance when we realized we did not have a dinner reservation, on a Saturday night in July at the shore. I will think twice before using Open Table again.YesNoReport1111This location on Bridge Avenue was close ...This location on Bridge Avenue was closed. Did not go to the other location at White Sands.

All fresh and made to order.YesNoReport4454Chef was so wonderful.Staff was wondering and it was really nice to talk to chef who came to our table to greet us. YesNoReport5455We walked in, went up to the girls behin ...We walked in, went up to the girls behind the counter, said we had a reservation for 2 @ 6:45. Our names were in the book, no problems & since we were the only people in the restaurant we had a choice of any table we wanted, which great. The girls, Louise & Amanda were so friendly, personable, eager to help us w/ deciding off the menu. The one downside was limited soda choices. Second, they did not have frog legs, bc they were out, ONLY bc they like to use the freshest ingredients & the frog legs were not up to the chefs standards.

For appetizer we started off w/ Arugula's clam special which was OMG delicious! Flavorful & not salty. None of the food was salty, a huge + in our book. So, if u like salty, this is not the place for you. The second appetizer was Tuna Tartare which was presented so beautifully. The flavors of the tuna, fruit, & homemade pesto were to die for. Then came salad, which was a little too vinegary, but still delicious bc of the fresh julienned apples-which were a fantastic palate cleanser. Time for the main course-I chose the Lobster-2 lobster tails out of the shell over bucatini pasta w/ baby scallops in a delectable subtle vanilla sauce-heaven in my mouth. My husband chose Tiger Shrimp over rigatoni in a red sauce. The shrimp were big & juicy. The sauce was smooth & flavorful. We were full & therefore did not order desert, but the deserts sure sounded good. Overall, our experience was excellent & would recommend Arugula. I showed the hostess the confirmation on my phone and was met with a blank stare. They would not accommodate us and we had to leave. I will NEVER recommend this to anyone. I felt like the staff was not professional or experienced enough to remedy the situation.YesNoReport1111Not a Great Experience. My husband and I went for Restaurant Week on 4/20/16. Although the place is small there was room to get around tables. They offered Clams Casino, Mussels and Eggplant tower as the appetizer choices, however, they had no shell fish. How do you have restaurant week and not have two of the three choices? They did let my husband choose something else off the menu for his appetizer. Although the waitress was very pleasant it was clear that she was not experienced. This place is a BYOB and we had a bottle of wine with us. We had to ask her for a bottle opener and she said she would bring it over for us to open. Not a huge deal but certainly not the norm. After about 10 minutes or so my husband had to go ask her for the corkscrew since she forgot to bring it over.

Just on a side note there were only two tables busy at that time. It's a shame that the experience wasn't good because we did enjoy the food. The Divi was delicious with scallops and shrimp in a cream sauce over rigatoni. The pork special was also good - just a little salty. The lemoncello cake was awesome.YesNoReport4222Food was cold and not to good.Food was cold and not to good.YesNoReport212Food good/ service ehhThe food was hot and fresh but the server was "off." She didn't know the specials because she couldn't read them and hadn't tried them?! And forgot to bring us bread or take a drink order being some of us were not drinking. (BYOB) the eggplant app was awesome and so we're all the entrees.YesNoReport3312I was really excited to try Arugula as a ...I was really excited to try Arugula as a result of a great looking menu. We made a reservation on OpenTable for NYE, two weeks in advance. When we arrived at Arugula, they told us that they hadn't received an OpenTable reservations for that night.
