So we headed to Eddie's, which is supposedly one of the best fishmongers in Edinburgh -- certainly the best that we found. Good variety of fresh seafood -- clams, prawns, scallops, monkfish, crabs, whelks, etc. All very fresh and tasty. Friendly service to help... Lovely staff, very knowledgeable and happy to answer all questions regarding preparation/cooking. Often a long line out the door, worth the wait. Best fish in Edinburgh. One day I bought some perfectly fresh langoustine, Eddie asked me how I planned to cook it ... I told him some Nigella recipe I had in mind. That I should cook it very simply, enjoy it for... The wild sea bass in the summer are fantastic value and make BBQ's special even when the sun isn't shining. Sushi grade tuna and salmon is awesome and we love the cod steaks. Always lots of choice with lots of fish we enjoy on overseas holidays. This is by far my most preferred fish monger.
