I can't even number how my posts I read on this board where it says something like "there are cheap sushi places everywhere" ... Well, that is great news since I love sushi and I love cheap! But since I won't have a car and I will only be visiting, I don't have the time to walk or take a bus/taxi etc. down every street to find these places. (I am assuming "everywhere" is just an expression.)I have been to Vancouver twice before and am planning on returning the first 2 weeks in October (I am planning now.) I have only had sushi once there though - I met some people who took me to Tsunami ... I liked it a lot. As much as I love sushi, I don't know why I haven't had it in Vancouver more often. We had 7 dishes shared between us and only one, the saba shima sushi, was not amazing. The saba just seemed bland compared to the amazing layered and complex flavors of the oden, tako wasabi, unagi nukku sushi, oyster fries or even the house made pickles. Went for lunch with a few friends and we were informed by the server that the restaurant was short staffed that day and apologized for any delay. As we had only been there a short time and our tea had been topped up we said everything was fine. But in the end it took about 45 -50 minutes for our lunch to be served and most of the items were luke warm not hot. But overall the food was tasty and the bento box included lots of tasty items.
