Nothing spectacular or special to brag about here. We were in town for Aerosmith concert. Busy Friday night, sat at the sushi bar. Service was fast and efficient. Very simple, not fancy atmosphere, but ok.

On the drive from LA to San Fran, Salinas is a good mid-point and Samurai did not disappoint. The salmon teriyaki and sushi combo lunch special was fresh and well presented. Service was fast and friendly too! This place is hands down the best in Salinas. Love the Miami Roll, and the Chicken Teriyaki. Also the Jumbo Shrimp Shumaii is great. This is where my friends and I go, and we definitely have good memories I'm very dissappointed that the quality of service. It used to be very good, but in the past 2 years it has drastically gone downhill.
We had to wait over an hour for the food and the food was cold by the time we got it. We also had to keep reminding our waitress about our food. The teriyaki is like a thin glaze. Both traditional sushi and ""fusion"" sushi creations are offered. The fish variety and freshness is superb, the chefs are creative, artistic and friendly, and the fellow diners make the atmosphere perfect.
