The ability to travel or stay put and everything is paid! Travel, room, food, commute. Meeting people from all over the world.
Cons The schedule for work is very demanding. Many hours and days straight. In 2011, a chef would work seven days a week, twelve hour days. But you do get compensated for it. Advice to Management Hire a more diverse team and the company would continue to grow to maximum extremes! Allow holiday time off, close the sushi bar on holidays! Jul 16, 2016 I worked at AFC Corporation (More than 3 years) Pros There's nothing righteous about this company. Cons Afc franchise is a horrendous company whose goal is to only consume money and caring less for their workers. Sushi makers/ workers gets paid but guess what? They have to forcibly buy products from Afc, including thousands of dollars and getting lesser raise, thus lessening their salary in which they put their time to make sushi all day. For example, a product might be shipped at publix by Afc, and the next thing you know, the company takes out money from the worker's bank account without first thing notice, compelling you to buy their products.
They would also required sushi makers to work all day long, seven times a week, around 8-10 hours every day without letting them get day-offs unlike other business companies like Publix, Target, Walmart, etc. The only day offs they get are on Christmas Day (which all stores are likely to close) and probably another holiday in which all stores are likely to close again, but THATS IT! Not even a 1 day off. Honestly, this company is just a bunch of suckers that only care about money and their-self. They truly don't have emotions as to where they don't realize that their workers also have families like them and tends to support them, but they can't get much family time due to the countless hours of "labor"... Advice to Management Lessening ditatorship - like rules such as giving day offs or at least 1 day ( if they even care about other people and their life...) , and decreasing the amount of debt that sushi makers forcibly had to buy products from the company Aug 25, 2015 I have been working at AFC Corporation full-time Pros Great experienceLots to do and things to learn Cons Things are done and forgiveness is asked rather than permission beforehand.
