Meanwhile you can wander and shop with vendors selling all kinds of souvenirs and/or eat some super fresh sushi. Good place for breakfast . Plenty of food stores and restaurants selling cook food and fresh sashimi. Overall, a pleasant experience. If in Tokyo it is a must see. Allow time to have a good look around and enjoy the working market. You need to be early to see the trading.

First if you need to go there you need to love fish not in average . You need wake up at 4 am to go there if you really wish to feel atmosphere . 5 am start auction if you wish to see you need to make reservation 2 - 3 week before for any travel agency which organizing this... Yea, it was fine. Im glad I did it, but Im not that bowled over by busy tourist markets at the best of times. The food looks and tastes good, but as you'd expect, everything is overpriced and sometimes quality service is lacking...BUT its a market I suppose. Ive done it now, not sure I would go again. A visit to Tokyo would be lacking unless it includes a visit to the Tsukiji Fish Market. Fresh seafood abounds along with cooking implements and other housewares. Some of the freshest fish you will ever have!So many different places to eat! From street food to authentic Japanese quaint restaurants! Busy busy at 10:00 in the morning! Lots of food, souvenirs, pottery, and some Asahi beer every other stall!
