First, thank you so much for all the birthday wishes. You guys are cool! Second, all of the comments were so fun to read. Everyone’s best recent meal were so varied and wonderful – some were at restaurants that I want to try so badly (Saison in San Francisco, Little Serow in DC and AQ in San Francisco), while others described living room picnics and sweet meals their boyfriends made them. And there were a few bowls of cereal in there too, which for the record, I’m really into. Alright, the random calculator gave me a number. I counted my way through the comments and Ashley is our winner! Here’s her comment: “great giveaway!!! the last great meal i had was last weekend– my friends and i cooked up butternut squash lasagna, crispy fresh garlic bread, green salad with a lemon-garlic dressing, and for dessert, brown sugar bourbon ice cream with gingersnaps. And on your b-day you can sort of do whatever you want, so today I’ve decided to channel Oprah and throw my own version of her famous “Favorite Things 2012.”

Mine is called “Cute Things 2012″ (if you didn’t read the title of this post). Oh man and do I have some cute things for you. Let start off with the bag. My good friend Johnna owns COPPERPEACE. It started out of her small Hollywood apartment, right after we moved from college to Los Angeles. NOW, The Avett Brothers wear her guitar straps in GAP commercials. This bag is pretty adorable stuff. You can wear it as a clutch or as a purse (a detachable strap will be included) AND the leather feels like butter. (You can check out COPPERPEACE’s online store and catch them on Twitter and Facebook.) Next up are some super cute colored pencils that look like branches. How adorable and old-timey ARE you gonna look coloring inside outside the lines holding these things?! My friends Jenny and Teri came out with a cookbook called Tiny Food Party! Here are a few snippets from the book. First, bite-size chicken and waffles. And then little baby taquitos…

Most of the food in this book is all so cute that it kind of makes me wanna punch it. Like, punch the food. Even if you don’t win it from this giveaway, I urge you to throw down $10 (or you can even pick it up from your library) because this book can get you through the upcoming entertaining season, also known as T-Day and Holiday Party Central. And lastly, some really cute recipe cards from one of my favorite letterpress companies, EGGPRESS.
