12 The Esplanade, St. Kilda PH: (03) 9534 1212Displaying 1 - 11 of 11 Reviews FoundSort: Useful | DateBy Hargard of vancouver I don't usually leave reviews for restaurants, but I will for this restaurant. By far my favourite Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. I had ordered their assorted sashimi bowl and an avocado salad to try out one of their unique menu - not to mention myself being an avocado freak. Every piece of sashimi in the bowl was SO DAMN FRESH. I have been to many sushi restaurants and I love going to Sushiyama because I personally think their sashimi pieces were the most fresh. But, Sakura Ichiban has definitely topped them off of my number 1 list. The avocado salad was also a great kick to hype up my appetite. i would definitely be going back for seconds, thirds, and more. By Dewey of West Vancouver BC I LOVED my experience at Sakura Ichiban. It's a restaurant that has been around for quite a long time but believe the owners right now have taken over nearly a decade ago.

They were so sweet and I really had a good talk with the chef who kept me company whole throughout my lunch. I had their kani sunomono, negitoro roll and couple pieces of nigiri. Everything tasted just awesome and was very satisfied at the filling portion. I think I'll come here a lot more often and willingly introduce my friends to it so they can also have a taste of the fantastic restaurant! By Jocelyn of Surrey , B.C. I went to Sakura Ichiban for the first time, and it was great! The server was very friendly, great atmosphere, and for the most part, the food was great. I had their tropical roll and gomae and my partner had a spicy salmon roll and an alaska roll. I guess not a lot of sushi restaurants make their spicy salmon roll and alaska roll bad since they are typical dishes. But, their special roll was very unique and was actually very filling. I loved how mild the taste was. I also enjoyed their gomae sauce, it tasted different from other Japanese restaurants. I would love to visit again.

By aregma of Burnaby Had dinner here last week and it was a very pleasent experience. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Service was attentive, and tea refills were plentiful. The dinner boxes are about the same price as many other japanese restaurants, $13-16 dollars, but are huge and pretty good quality. A dinner box is enough for a big eater. I also ordered beef tataki, which I found to be of a high quality.
sushi online bestellen aachen What I liked the best about the food was their special rolls.
sushi ushi onlineThe tiger rolls are really good, as is their tropical roll.
where to buy sushi grade fish in riverside caI was a little disappointed in the size of their tropical roll, but it was at least very tastey and unique.

Will definitely be back! By Kujibo of West Vancouver Since my last review we have indeed been back many times and brought others to the restaurant who all enjoyed it. A couple of weeks ago it reopened under new ownership/management after a brief closure. The menu is updated a bit and the food is prepared a bit differently. Their box lunches and dinners are now priced lower and a bit smaller (starts at $8.95 for lunch).
yo sushi delivery birminghamThey are still very big though as the previous ones were just ridiculously big.
sushi washington dc macarthur blvdIt's hard to finish them.
umi sushi dc order online Almost every time we've gone they've surprised us with some item on the house.

They are often interesting dishes too, the chef has some creativity. The new sushi chef/owner seems even friendlier than the previous one. They take a genuine interest in their customers. While it's certainly possible that the service, ambience and food could be a bit better this is the first restaurant I've ever given 5 overall stars to. That's because when I think Japanese this is really the only place I want to go to now. It's got that intangible combination of good food, friendliness and value in an unpretentious setting. I hope it continues on. By EMILY NY of north vancouver I've been here at least 4 times so far. I've never had a bad experience with a single dish here. There's no menu, it's Ichiban style. Just sit and eat what you are served. This really is the absolute best Japanese restaurant. You should try tuna sashimi, volcano roll, red dragon roll. By aozora of vancouver I can't stop coming back. I was there last night and I'm still thinking about the fresh sashimi and special rolls.

I think that I'm most satisfied when I get something that for years I have under appreciated and then all of the sudden boom!! it's my favorite food. I really can't finish this review with out mentioning the space. By pipi of West Vancouver We've been the regular cusomers since the first time we had dinner there. The food is excellent, especially the premium sashimi...The dinner boxes are HUGE! The service there is the best. They offer picturing and little toys for kids. They give birthday surprise... The Sushi man is so nice and can make vivid special rolls, like caterpillar and volcano.... We will defenitely go there again and again coz it's not just a place for dining but for fun and comfort. By Kelly of N. Van I've been going there since 2005. The first chef wasn't that great. Now this is the third one I've known and the food quality I'd say is fairly authenic. Even though the sushi portion are not so big compare to local Canadian standard but this is what the traditional Japanese cusine all about, it's the quality not the quanitity.

The seafood is always fresh and is top quality, (I'd say it for sure as I've been eating fresh seafood in my entire life, Asian like us would never touch the lower grade or frozen food.) The dragon roll is nice, all of the special roll are nice, good taste and good presentation. By papercut11 of vancouver We love Japanese food. We went here during the summer to take out and eat at the beach. Just one sushi combo (dynamite roll and four or five nigiri pieces). We thought this would be simple. We feel for resturants as we've both worked in them, but rudeness still rubs us the wrong way. The hostess was so abrupt and rude. Told to wait half an hour. She never told us this before we paid. This turned us off. The food itself was fine. I remember going here when I was younger and it was much better then! By Brit Darling of Vancouver Yes, the dinner was NOT good. I went with my family. All four of us were disappointed. The service was incredibly slow, in fact, they didn't even care to tend to us at all.
