ichiban sushi menu pacific beach

A great deal for good quality sushi at a low price for Happy Hour. My wife and I had a large amount of sushi rolls (good taste and quality) 2 22 ounce beers for $30. Dinner was done we went were happy and went home. Have I had better quality sushi - yes. Have I paid a lot more -... At first I was surprised that you had to order and pay before seating. They have a pretty good happy hour menu and daily specials. I have been going to this restaurant for 25+ years now. I don't live in San Diego anymore but when I come I go to this restaurant and the food is as incredible as it's always been. I can't think of a restaurant with better food for a better value than this one. The Bento lunch is perfect every time! My wife and I have enjoyed eating here for many years. So have many of our friends. In an area that now has dozens of sushi restaurants (I have no idea why there are so many of them. There are literally almost one on each block in Pacific Beach.) to my recollection, this was he first.

And the fact that... I have been a fan of Ichiban for about 15 years. I used to come here as a kid now in my early 30s I love it just as much. It is my favorite sushi spot. They have great portions and the prices are great. The staff are awesome and I appreciate their service. We went here because of the positive reviews. However we feel the overall food did not merit such high reviews. The service and prices were great but that is not enough to get me to try it again. Lunch today is Chicken Teriyaki & Shrimp Tempura. Comes with salad & miso soup. Fresh with tasty flavor. My friend ordered the chicken katsu salad. Everything is affordable . When I'm visiting San Diego I stop in for my Asian cravings. Ichiban is the perfect joint for standard sushis at affordable prices. Don't expect a great atmosphere but the place is perfect for a quick bite and service is friendly. If you're visiting San Diego and you want sushi, you can look no further. This is the place you want to go.

Great sushi at a great price - yes. The spicy tuna roll is one of the best I've ever had - and I used to live in Japan. The Lion King roll is the proverbial bomb-diggety. Great value for money. Also this place is not a restaurant to take wife/girlfriend out in the evening. A great place for a healthy good Japanese lunch. A bit more modern that the Ichiban in Hillcrest, but has a bit less "ambient".
