The decor is beautiful. All of my meals were excellent so long as you remember this isn't Tex Mex, but rather much more traditional food. I will start by saying that I eat a lot of sushi and REALLY like it. While Ichiban was well prepared and the fish was fresh, it was fairly standard fair and on the higher end of the price spectrum. The first time I ordered from the menu. Good food, I ordered an additional roll, good and fast service. The second time, I ordered their two-roll lunch. To me, this is a great value for a sushi lunch! I have been eating here since it was established. The food is good but over time the portions have gotten smaller and the price has gone up. I will continue to eat here as I enjoy it, however i have reduced my frequency. When getting carry out for a family of four it can be very expensive to eat here. This restaurant has a very extensive menu and the atmosphere is what you would expect from a usual sit down Asian place in a suburban strip plaza. The ordering and delivery to the table was nothing but business, wasting no time and making no small talk. Appetizers and main dishes were great food though. We were there on a Tuesday. It was not crowded and we were seated right away. Waiter appeared with a hot towel which was nice. Next time I will order the General Tso's chicken. My husbands was crispy and delicious. The fried ice cream was to die for. Service was prompt and friendly. Love this place, this is like a second kitchen for casual dining - it never disappoints.
