Izakaya Matsuri - Dining-OUT.co.za The Rockwell, Shop 6 Cnr Prestwich & Napier Streets Green Point 8005 Lunch: 11:30 - 15:00 Dinner: 17:00 - 22:30 Main: Other: Light Meals, Sushi, Tapas Located outside the Rockwell Hotel in bustling Greenpoint, Izakaya Matsuri will blow you away with its amazing classic Japanese cuisine and Asian flavours. Owner and celebrated chef Arata Koga (previously sushi master at Tank in Cape Town and Genki in Stellenbosch) creates light, fresh and top-quality traditional Japanese tapas in accordance with the ancient custom of Japanese Izakaya establishments. He is dedicated in both the authenticity of flavour and artful presentation of the cuisine and often joins his expert team behind the sushi bar, where diners can enjoy watching their food being prepared. "Food is my passion - my art is creating a delicious and surprising meal that will tantalise your senses," says Arata Kogo. The interior at Izakaya is serene and tastefully decorated, with Japanese screens for privacy, white Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling and pot plants full of greenery dotted here and there.
There is an assortment of seating at Izakaya in the form of couches, intimate 2-seaters with comfy cushions and large family style dining room tables with benches. Diners also have the option of enjoying their meals outside on the patio. Izakaya is well-known for their Bento Lunch Boxes which change daily. These Japanese-style packed lunches are a great way to try a bit of everything - great if you are new to Japanese cuisine or if you just can't decide what to order! Asian Tapas, Japanese rice beer, saki, and a variety of fresh sushi also feature on the menu. The Zen Sai Platter comes highly recommended and is a Starter Platter made up of the Chef's special selection. One of the most important things about being on holiday in South Africa (besides all the wonderful things there are to do) is to find good restaurants to eat at, whether its for lunch or for evening dinner. We have put together a list of some of the places we believe are worthwhile going to and that we have been to and found to be good if not excellent. jiro dreams of sushi letmewatchthisObviously we cannot take responsibility for any change in quality etc. and also, we like them but they may not be to everyone's taste.jiro dreams of sushi undertext Why you should choose us as your travel partner!jiro dreams of sushi mozi

The entire house will be at your disposal, except for one spare room in which we'll be locking up our extra things. Beyond the house, you're welcome to enjoy walks on the farm - the animals always enjoy a hello.Although we'll be away, the hotel reception is just a 2 minute walk away where there will be somebody to answer any questions you might have. The peace of farm life combined with the convenience of being right on the edge of town is ideal. The Jonkershoek valley is a beautiful leafy green farmland and nature reserve gem with a few great restaurants for lunch, wine farms and a nature reserve with waterfall hikes and incredible moantain biking trails. We have a great little local grocery shop just 1km away, or the charming old town only 3km away where you can find all the shops, restaurants and coffee shops you'll need. A bit further afield, within just a 15km radius, you'll find countless of the best wine farms, creaft beer breweries, berry farms and all sorts of other country treats.
Other than that, we're 30 minute's drive from the airport, one hour's drive from Cape Town, and an hour from Kogel Bay, one of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the Cape.Unless you're planning to relax on the farm and not venture anywhere except for a few uber or taxi rides, we would recommend you hire a car for you stay (there are many internationally known rental companies in town to choose from). We do have wifi at the house, but note that it can be fickle at times. My Naam is Februarie - Identities ...
